STAT 150        Project 1          General Advice based on Draft Reports

1. Use a good (catchy?) descriptive title!

“Human Development Trends” is not good enough.

Neither is “Life Expectancy vs. …”

2. Give details.

“The countries behaved as we expected on these variables” is not good enough.

3. Include many graphs (screen captures).

3a. Incorporate these into the report, not all at the end.

3b. Label these individually (e.g., Fig 1: Life Expectancy vs. …) and refer to them in body of report.

4. Submit one report for your team, not separate reports.

5. Write strong conclusion.

            Don’t just stop abruptly.

6. Use section headings.

7. Write more than one paragraph!

8. Double-space your report.

9. Refer back to the project guidelines/assignment repeatedly to see what is expected.

These guidelines will be the basis for how your report is graded.
