"Background:" Suppose that on one night at a certain hospital, four mothers give birth to baby boys. As a very sick joke, the hospital staff decides to return babies to their mothers completely at random. (I apologize for this absurd and objectionable context, but at least this lab will be memorable. Please realize I am only kidding!).
Because it is clearly not feasible to actually carry out this exercise over and over again, to investigate what would happen in the long run, we will use simulation.
The table below shows the moms and their boys.
Wasn't that nice of them to use first names that were alliterative with their last names. This will help us remember which boys belong to which moms.
